The Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC)is a worldwide body with members on six continents. The Primate of the TAC is Archbishop John Hepworth of Australia. The TAC is orthodox and solidly Catholic in its teaching and practice. By contrast, the Canterbury-based Anglican Communion, which includes The Episcopal Church in the USA (TEC), emphasizes "inclusiveness" and embraces a wide range of belief, practice, and moral teaching. The TAC shares a common ancestry with Canterbury, including Apostolic Succession, but there is no direct hierarchical or organizational connection between us.

In keeping with the principles of the "Continuing Church" as set forth in the Affirmation of St. Louis, the TAC has been working for many years to establish visible, corporate, and organizational unity with the ancient See of Rome. In 2007, in a solemn gathering in Portsmouth, England, the Bishops of the TAC affirmed the Catechism of the Catholic Church – making that document the formal standard of doctrine for the TAC and its member churches – and formally petitioned the Holy See for a means by which full and visible unity could be achieved.

In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI replied with the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus and associated Complementary Norms, which provide for the erection of “Personal Ordinariates,” diocese-like structures within the Catholic Church that allow groups of Anglicans to enter into full and visible communion with the Church, while still maintaining much of their Anglican patrimony.

In December 2010, the membership of the Cathedral of the Incarnation voted overwhelmingly to accept the terms of the Apostolic Constitution and to request admission to the anticipated Ordinariate in the United States.

“Resolution to Accept Apostolic Constitution Approved by Parish”

In order to provide for the pastoral care of those churches and individuals presently in the ACA/DEUS that wish to enter into the Catholic Church via the Ordinariate, in 2011, the Primate of the TAC established the Pro-Diocese of the Holy Family. The new pro-diocese has been erected to give the clergy, laity, and parishes/missions who have already decided to enter into the Ordinariate (once established) a place where they may come together and continue to prepare for unity with the Catholic Church. Once the Ordinariate for the United States is erected, the members of the Pro-Diocese will enter in to it, and the Pro-Diocese will no longer exist.

About Our Faith

We maintain and uphold the Catholic faith in its Anglican expression. Our ways are ancient and our faith is unchanging. In the midst of the turbulent sea of the ever-changing world around us, we stand on the Rock of Jesus Christ as He has been made known to us in the teaching of the Holy Apostles, the Holy Church and the Holy Bible as the sole source of that peace which the world cannot give; the peace of God, which passes man's understanding.

We joyfully affirm the three Catholic Creeds and the teaching of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

About Our Vision

As a part of the Church, our primary goal is to prepare people for the world to come. We preserve the keys to the gates of heaven: the Word and the Sacraments. We offer the Living Water to all who thirst, free of charge. We aim to love each other and all people the way Christ has loved us. We aim to be like a city on a hill, our light so shining before men that they will be moved to praise God.

We are also committed to our Lord's command to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." (St. Matthew 28:19-20) To that end we teach and encourage the laity to "always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1 St. Peter 3:15).

We pray that you will soon visit our church with the expectation that you will be able to worship with a church family that will welcome you with open arms, a loving spirit, and a solid commitment to bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
